"Formed by Kevin 'Al' Archer immediately after leaving Dexy's Midnight Runners in 1981, the Blue Ox Babes inspired the 'Celtic Soul' image and sound of Dexys' Too-Rye-Aye album before eventually signing to Go! Discs in 1988. Three singles were issued to critical acclaim but an album, Apples & Oranges, was cancelled after just a handful of promo cassettes were circulated. Now this great lost album is finally released, swelled by various non-album B-sides and an unissued demo, with lengthy sleevenotes featuring quotes from Kevin Archer & co.
